Finally, we are living in absolute Utopia. However, I am referring to a “bail-out” utopia, not a grand social order of peace, balance and abundance. We’ve had pre-TARP (Fannie Mae & Freddie), TAPR, two “stimulus” packages, and more is set to blanket our nation. With few exceptions, very little benefit has resulted from the strategy of simply “throwing more money” at problems. We are adding inordinate debt to our nation’s economy, and yet our systems are not responding by stabilizing or showing improvement. Perhaps it is time to recognize that the systems (not only the people who run them) know best, and we should see the signs that spending (inefficiently) does not work.
Will The TARP Accomplish Goals
Although it will certainly make life uncomfortable for many, allowing systems to rebound with limited government interaction has been the most effective throughout time. Artificial rescue—or “propping up”—of an economy seldom has lasting benefits. The feel-good mentality that government is the answer to all social, economic and personal ills is a path that leads to diminished individual accountability, and increased government control. By looking at attempts to achieve success by these means in the past, discerning minds will see where the path traditionally leads.

Will True Tenacity Affect Government
Although The Harbinger League, LLC did not publicly endorse any political candidate or party, we have a strong belief in (and commitment to) the American political process. Among our leadership team, we have differing views and will base our individual decisions on a comparison of our personal values, aspirations, and political views with all available candidates.
We encourage you to look beyond a single party loyalty to evaluate the immediate, short-term and long-term benefits (and limitations) of the various policies, ideals and philosophical views presented by the parties. Conservative, independent, and liberal alike must evaluate the platforms and the integrity of all available candidates to decide with a measure of impartiality.
Within any multi-party system, some of us will align with the “first runner-up” in this, the most heated political contest in decades. Yet an important variable of our electoral process is how we respond AFTER the elections have passed. If we value the system in its entirety, we must support the victor, regardless if we voted for him or her. Majority rules.
Yet we can have a long-term impact on the regulations, policies, and ethical standards of our nation. By remaining actively involved (not just in an election year), we can influence our elected officials by phone calls, emails, petitions, and involvement in public forums. Both parties agree that movement to the “left” or to the “right” traditionally occurs in small—often unnoticeable—increments. By remaining involved, you minimize the risk of our society changing too dramatically.
Regardless which party you support, please remain involved in our political process.

WTTAG--Transition of Power
After surviving months of the political process, continued segmentation of the American people is now futile. If we have faith in democracy, the next several years must be committed to building a more vibrant nation. The dedication invested to elect new leaders (or defeat the opposition) must be sustained in order to advance. No longer are we afforded the luxury of supporting one candidate in a broad spectrum of ideologies. The freedom to participate in public elections requires acceptance and respect for the victor. It’s the American way.
When To Trust Another Guardian
Our elected officials are required to “protect and defend” our way of life. Our neighbors, colleagues and family have—by majority vote—chosen a new guardian for our traditions, values, resources, and welfare. Compromise of our beliefs is never required, but an initial trust and cooperation will allow our nation to determine our next course of action. Although leaders guard, we—the people—must remain active to insure that our trust is never misplaced or betrayed.
